Keeping up with Walk Deck Maintenance is important to get the maximum life out of your deck. A good quality deck can last for many years with the proper care and maintenance. Since building a custom walk deck is a great investment in your home, it should be treated with care. 

Every walk deck should be inspected at least once each year. You should look for anything suspicious or out of the ordinary. Watch out for any cracks or splits on the surface of the deck. Also, inspect the surrounding walls and railings. Look for any cracks in the stucco wall above the deck as water can enter these cracks with nowhere to escape. 

A properly installed walk deck can be recoated with a new topcoat every 3-5 years. This will make the deck last longer and after a simple re-coat, it will look brand new again.
